architectural chocolate
wall clock
happy tape
stone and industry
Created by Dutch designer Lex Pott. Gorgeous.
As Belgian bluestone is found deep under the ground, natural rugged forms are typically created during its extraction. Industry then processes this into rectangular blocks or sheet material. Lex Pott designed a table that combines industry and nature. It can clearly be seen in the contours how the natural rock formations are combined with industrial geometry.

papertower & supercell
My favourite architect, Shigeru Ban,and product designer, Marc Newson, were commisioned to design two freestanding structures for the London Design Week, with the brief of “pushing the boundaries of what materials can do”. The results are interesting, and reflective of each designer’s aesthetics and design language, but I just wish they could get these two opposing views to collaborate on one single piece. It would have been nice to see the contrast of Marc’s curves and Shigeru Ban’s clean lines intertwined and blended. via Moco Loco.

lacroix gaultier smith
In the latest collaboration of the Evian and famous fashion people, and the design of its bottle, (which I always felt was strange since Evian never had an iconic bottle to begin with. Unlike Coca-Cola or Absolut Vodka. But I digress) Paul Smith adds his iconic coloured stripes and gives us coloured bottle caps! Now if they don’t only taste like, well, water…
In order below, Paul Smith, Jean Paul Gaultier and Christian Lacroix.
